Here we go…

“Give yourself the same care and attention that you give others and watch yourself bloom” -Unknown

Life can get tough sometimes.

When things get hard, we seek out support and guidance from friends, family, therapists and even mentors. It’s a normal part of life to struggle and need a little help getting back on track.

But what about the therapists (and other mental health professionals) who struggle? We’re human too and are not immune to the struggles and hardships that come with life. We love to support our clients and help them find their footing again, but sometimes we need a helping hand too.

I’m starting this blog to document my journey of being a practicum student as well as someone who seeks out therapy. Practicum is part of the educational process of becoming a therapist–it’s the first taste of seeing clients and usually one of the final steps before getting that sweet, sweet training license.

This is a place for my own thoughts to linger and maybe reach someone who feels they can connect in someway. My hope is to look back in a few months after graduation and see my own growth as well as track my mental health journey.

The stigma sucks. It’s okay to not be okay.
